one of my friends had a similar situation. he did not understand what the reason was. he took the watch to be repaired and the specialist told him that the inner mechanism broke because the lubricant inside the components dried up. many of the details have been lost. a little later, my friend realized that he used to leave the watch on the windowsill, and the sun beat on the windowsill, overheating the watch. this was almost every day. probably this was the reason why all the internal components dried up....
