fake luxury watches sold as gen watches!!! Watch OUT!

hello everyone,
guys, I'm coming with an alert, so you can be cautious and inform those around you!

To begin with, I am a replica watch lover. I've got a few in my collection and love to observe this industry. it's a kinda fun and a hobby for me!
BUT!!!! I PROTEST ANYTIME I OBSERVE AN INJUSTICE AND AN ATTEMPT TO SCAM! I don't like it when irresponsible dealers take advantage of customers' naivety and unawareness and sell things passing them off as other things!!!!

I THINK EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHAT KIND OF WATCH TO GET: EITHER A REPLICA OR AN AUTHENTIC WATCH! AND WHENEVER HE DECIDES, HE MUST RECEIVE WHAT HE ASKED FOR!!!

sorry for the capslock but I'm very frustrated!! the idea is that I spotted several dealers who claim to sell authentic luxury watches. And they ARE AUTHENTIC, but only PARTIALLY!!!!!

long story short, a dealer sells a genuine Deepsea with a fake bracelet. Another sells an Explorer gen with a fake clasp. The third one generally knocked me off completely: initially, the watch seemed authentic to me. It is about a nautilus. But after detailed inspection, everything was authentic in it, EXCEPT THE DIAL!!!

So, there are many who do business with such imitations! the worst thing is that they sell them at the price of genuine watches and it is very difficult to find the fake "intruder"! I don't know how they succeed, but it seems that it is a widely spread scam in the US because I have found these scammers in different states. Don't ask me how I detect fake components! thank God I have a friend who is a specialist in this field!

In any case, be careful what you buy and check the authenticity of the watch AND EVERY DETAIL OF IT if you plan to buy an original accessory!

Cheers!

yep, the market for replica watches is higher than ever. I found some statistical data recently that talks about an increase of several million pieces in the US market, in the context where a few years ago, rep watches only reached one million...

on one hand, I really embrace that reps are going so popular. this speaks about their quality and the fact that rep factories are doing them much better than they did before. on the other hand, I DO believe that all the reps should come with a special label on them, indicating that they are reps and not gens. in such way, people would not be deceived so easily when someone tries to sell them a rep watch as being a genuine one.

I am also not ok with the fact that people are deceived by being sold reps as gens. but I'm afraid that this is a very big business and it is difficult to control these fraudulent schemes. the best we can do is to spread the info about all risks and to urge everyone who buys a luxury watch to check it and validate its authenticity

where do you find this date? curious to take a look...

a friend of mine told me, I don't know how true it is, that nearly 80% of the current replica watches are very difficult to differentiate from those like.... a few years ago, the proportion was exactly the opposite, i.e. only 20% from the reps they looked exactly like gens...

if so, it all makes sense and it's not at all hard to sell a rep to be passed as a gender. However, I also think that it's not ok to deceive people. Each one should have what he wants to have. I don't really see what we can do in such situations except to inform those around us about the risks. I think that those who want authentic watches should buy them exclusively from officially authorized boutiques

I'm curious to find out WHERE such sellers sell their so-called gens?!

I mean: if I meet a dealer on the street who offers me a genuine ROLEX, I'm sure I wouldn't believe him. Luxury watches are sold exclusively in specialized stores, how is it possible that fakes are sold there? i just don't get it..,..

even the preowned luxury watches are sold in authorized stores such as Christie's where they pass a very rigorous inspection of authenticity before being put up for sale...

I mean, are there really people who believe that a luxury watch sold outside these authorized centers can be truly AUTHENTIC? ! I'm shocked

i met one in Tennesse, visited a cousin of mine for a couple of weeks. we were in a bar and we started talking about watches somehow and ended up talking about fakes... a dude approached us from the other side and got into the discussion. he seemed a nice guy initially, and he told me that he works at a preowned watches store and could give me a discount for a luxury watch, and that the price would be much better than the one in the direct store. nest day we met to see the clock. that's how I found out that it's actually a good fake but still a fake... I assume that the dude doesn't even work in any store... he's just looking for victims in bars

I met the second such dealer by chance. He came to me alone after I had written some questions on a forum. he wrote me directly if I don't want a genuine Vacheron. he told me that he did not want to sell through authorized preowned shops because they take too high a commission and he prefers to sell it directly... checked... fake again...

this phenomenon will increase more and more...

the better the imitations get, the more attempts to pass them off as genuine will be...

my opinion is that at some point, everything will end .... US may implement legal rules like in Switzerland.
If in Switzerland you are caught with whatever fake good, regardless of whether it is a fake t-shirt, or bag, or wallet, the police immediately makes you pay stinging fines. I know a lady who was in Turkey on holiday where she bought some fake bags like Louis Vuitton. the customs officers made her pay the state the price for the genuine product, or something similar, in the form of a fine.... 😂😂😁😁😁😁

I don't rule out that we will face such laws one day in the US...:unsure:

I think this problem has always persisted, actually. simply us. I wasn't paying attention to her. even if fake watches were not as good as they are now, on the other hand, the world was more naive and was more easily deceived. Today, replica watches are almost perfect, even specialists find it hard to tell the difference. But, at the same time, the people also became more aware, more educated mainly about the quality of the products. Maybe not all, but most of the people in the US today knows more about the replica industry than 10 years ago.

everyone must know that authentic watches are only sold in specialized stores. A watch lover who has a horological education and wants to sell his luxury watch for some reason, will have enough self-respect to go to a specialized store to sell his luxury piece. I will never believe that a luxury watch owner is ready to sell his accessory like that, off the cuff, to anyone. So the story about watches sold at the corner of the building is nothing but bullsh*it.

I think it is inevitable that there will always be victims in this industry. it is true that people. became much more aware and educated in the matter of replica goods. now it is not very easy to deceive someone that an authentic watch is actually a fake.... however, there will always exist those who will fall prey to scammers
